NEED TO ENSURE SUCCESS OF UPCOMING LEGISLATIVE ELECTIONS TO STRENGTHEN CONSTITUTIONAL INSTITUTIONS

APS – April 11th, 2017.

ALGIERS- Minister of Interior and Local Authorities Noureddine Bedoui has underlined, in Algiers, the need to ensure the success of the legislative elections of 4 May 2017 in order to strengthen the constitutional institutions and preserve the future of the country.
"The upcoming elections, which are another step in the democratic process of our country, would strengthen its constitutional institutions," he said, adding "that's the reason why we call on everyone to contribute to their success."
"The date of 11 April reminds us of all sacrifices of the People's National Army, security services, municipal guards and citizens, who have always been mobilized against terrorism across the country," said Bedoui on the sidelines of the remembrance ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the Government Palace.
Twenty people were killed and over 200 others were injured in the Government Palace attack.
The minister said "Algeria today enjoys security and stability thanks to the wise and clear-sighted policy of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika, the policy of civil concord and national reconciliation."
In this regard, Bedoui underlined the need to "preserve the achievements of national reconciliation in order to protect the country and defend its sovereignty and unity."
