Algeria condemns in the strongest terms, the Israeli occupation forces carrying out military operations in the city of Rafah, in the southern Gaza strip, in a preparation for a ground invasion to this Palestinian region.

This extremely dangerous escalation, threatening to cause an unprecedented criminal toll and a widespread humanitarian catastrophe, which confirms that the Israeli occupation is continuing to implement its plan aimed to the extermination of the Palestinian people and displacing the rest of them.

This act confirms that occupation force, does not care at all of the international community consensus, on the need to accelerate the implementation of an immediate and lasting ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the imperative of launching a political track that guarantees the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, as, a just, lasting and definitive solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

From this perspective, Algeria calls on the international community to act urgently, immediately and decisively to put pressure on the occupying power and to stop providing it with means and reasons to continue its intimidation, domination, and oppression of the innocent Palestinians for more than seven (07) months.

Algeria warns that the continuation of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the risk of its escalation to the highest levels with a ground military invasion of the Palestinian city of Rafah, will have extremely serious repercussions, that would jeopardize the future peace and security of the entire region for many long decades.
