The cultural links between Algeria and India are laid down in the executive Cultural Exchange Programmes (CEP). The cultural cooperation includes exchanges of visits of performing artists, organizing cultural festivals, film festivals and exchanges in the field of youth affairs and sports.
Several events have been organized in both countries, such as:
The 4th Festival of desert people organized in Timimoun from 18th to 20th December 2009:
Painting exhibition of Indian women artists, entitled "Women by Women", in Algiers in March 2009;
The organisation of the Indian movie week in various cities in Algeria, from 23rd to 2nd October 2010
The organization of the Algerian ballet performances in several Indian cities, from 14th to 22nd December 2010, followed by performances of Indian classical dance group in Algeria in March 2011.
India also participated in the cultural event "Tlemcen, Capital of Islamic Culture", as well as in different events organized on the occasion of the 50th independence anniversary which coincided with the commemoration of 50 years of diplomatic relations between Algeria and India.
For its part, Algeria was represented by a group from Bechar at the International Festival of Arts in Delhi, held from 1st to 7th November 2012. This group has performed in New Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
It should also be added that two Algerian film "Le repenti " and "Yema" were screened as part of the 17th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala, held from in December 2012.
In November 2014, Algeria hosted the “Arab-India Cultural Festival”.
