Ambassador Abderrahmane Benguerrah was received by H.E. Mr. V. Muraleedharan, Honourable Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, on 27th April, 2022. During the meeting, they exchanged views on further strengthening the bilateral cooperation.

On Monday, 09th of May, 2022, The Embassy commemorated the National day of memory which marks the seventy sixth anniversary of the massacres of 08th May 1945. On this occasion, a ceremony was orgnaised by the Embassy with the playing of the national anthem and raising of the Algerian flag in memory of the Martyrs.

On Friday 18th of February 2022, the Embassy commemorated Chahid Day (Martyr's Day) with the raising of the Algerian flag, the play of the national anthem and the recitation of surah Al Fatiha from the Holy Quran.

On Saturday, 19th of March 2022, the Embassy commemorated the 60th anniversary of Victory Day with the playing of the national anthem, the raising of the Algerian flag and the recitation of Surah Al Fatiha from the Holy Quran in the memory of the Martyrs.

ADDIS ABABA (Ethiopia)- Minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and the Arab League Abdelkader Messahel said, in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), that the election of Fatima Zahra Karadja as a member of the Panel of Eminent Persons of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) is “a pride for the country and for the Algerian woman.”

ADDIS ABABA- Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal held discussions on January 29th in Addis-Ababa with the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres ahead of the 28th Summit of the African Union, planned on 30-31 January. In a statement to the media following the meeting, Guterres welcomed the "important cooperation” that exists between Algeria and the UN and which covers various fields like the climate change, development, peace and security.

ADDIS ABABA- President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika has been elected, by his African peers, vice-chairman of the African Union (AU), for a one year term, in the 28th ordinary summit whose works started on January 30th in Addis Ababa, said the Algerian delegation.

ALGIERS- Minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and Arab League, Abdelkader Messahel, will lead the Algerian delegation to the works of the 4th Arab-Russian Cooperation Forum, to be held on February 1st in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a communique.

APS – May 15th, 2017. ALGIERS-Algeria has been elected Monday chair of the African Police Cooperation Mechanism (AFRIPOL) whose first general assembly takes place on 14-16 May, the African Union (AU) Peace and Security Commissioner Smail Chergui announced Monday.

ALGIERS-Major General Karoui Djamel, Chargé de mission at the National Defence Ministry, affirmed Monday in Algiers that Algeria "has always argued for the promotion and consolidation of Africa's position within the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) while working for the rigorous implementation of the relevant international convention.

ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika was honoured on May 14th 2017, in Algiers, by the General Directorate of the National Police (DGSN) for his support and commitment to implementing the African Mechanism for Police Cooperation (AFRIPOL). This symbolic distinction was received on his behalf by Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal on the sidelines of the first General Assembly of the African Police Cooperation Mechanism (AFRIPOL).

APS – May 24th, 2017. ALGIERS-Said Bouhadja, a member of the National Liberation Front (FLN) party, has been elected on May 23rd, by majority, as President of the People's National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament), under the 8th term (2017-2022). He was elected by 356 votes.
