Mr. Zitouni from New Delhi highlights the accommodations that Indian investors could benefit from in Algeria

 The Minister of Home Trade and National Market Regulation, Tayeb Zitouni, highlighted, in New Delhi, the accommodations that could benefit Indian companies desiring to invest in Algeria, during his discussions with the President of the Confederation of Indian Industry, Sanjiv Puri, on the sidelines of his participation in the 29th Partnership Summit organized in the Indian capital, a press release from the ministry said on Tuesday.

During this meeting, which took place in the presence of the Algerian ambassador to India, Ali ACHOUI, Mr. Zitouni stressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries in several areas as well as the exchange of expertise to strengthen economic ties in the service of their common interests, ensuring that Algeria is ready to grant all facilities to Indian companies interested to invest in Algeria.

After thanking the Algerian Minister for his participation in this important international summit, for his part, and Mr. Sanjiv Puri praised the efforts made by Algeria to strengthen its economic relations with its international partners, specifying that the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is looking for promising investment opportunities, particularly in the sectors of heavy industry, agriculture and technology, according to the press release.

On the sidelines of the summit, Mr. Zitouni also had a meeting with the Director General of the Federation of Indian Commerce and Industry, Ms. Jyoti Vij, at the latter's request. The two parties, on this occasion, discussed "ways to develop economic partnerships between Algeria and India, after the members of the Federation have accompanied the Indian President during her visit to Algeria last October and explored the investment opportunities offered by the country," the statement said.

The two sides agreed during this meeting to intensify business visits between the two countries and to organize joint economic events to support bilateral investments.

On this occasion, Mr. Zitouni stressed that Algeria is ready to provide all the necessary facilities to makes steps to fruition, highlighting the promising opportunities offered by the Algerian market.

He also recalled the economic reforms undertaken by Algeria to encourage investment and improve the business climate.

For her part, Ms. Jyoti Vij welcomed the "positive development" in relations between the two countries, expressing the willingness of the Federation of Indian Commerce and Industry to strengthen its cooperation with Algeria with a view to establishing lasting mutually beneficial partnerships.
